AKA Connection
Objectives:
To identify issues relating to social justice, political empowerment and economic development that affects the quality of life for various constituents

To mobilize chapter members for political action

To promote political awareness and involvement within the chapter and the community

To raise the voices of the African American Community through participation with designated boards, commissions, councils, etc.

To support the International Connection and organize chapter action for greatest impact

Activities include the following: AKA Day at the Capital, Attend City Council, County Commission, School Board meetings, Voter registration drives, 2010 Census


AKA Youth Group (Emerging Young Leaders)
Objectives:
To impact the lives of girls in grades 6th through 8th through innovative programs by providing leadership skills development, civic engagement, enhanced academic preparation and character building.

Activities: Ivy Akademy Celebration, Lock-In (sleepover), MLK Parade, Provide community service (MLK Day of Service and others), Retreat, Self esteem and other empowerment workshops


AKA Youth Group (Precious Pearls)
Objectives:
To promote information and experiences for youth which encourage intellectual, social and spiritual growth 

To promote a spirit of service 

To increase economic literacy 

To establish friendships and support systems 

To have an accessible pool of young ladies that serve as a resource for sorority activities

Activities: Attend cultural enrichment and social events, College tour, Fundraising activities (bowl-a-thon), Ivy Akademy Celebration, MLK Parade, Provide community service (Metropolitan Ministries, Salvation Army, and others)


Community Service
Objectives:
To extend service to the community 

To support activities that focus on the African-American family

Activities: Adopt a shelter and donate items, Can food drives, Distribute school supplies, MLK Parade, Recycle cell phones


Educational Advancement Fund (EAF)
Objectives:
To promote lifelong learning by soliciting funds to be used towards scholarships, fellowships and grants

Activities: College financial aid workshop, Fundraisers, Sell pink EAF mugs, Raffle tickets

Health
Objective:
To keep abreast of health and wellness issues affecting the African American community

To provide information on available health care resources

To encourage members to improve their quality of life and to promote healthy lifestyles

Activities: Annual Men’s Health Forum, Host healthy cooking demonstrations, Host a family health day, Participate in diabetes and breast cancer walks, Provide health tips in the chapter's monthly newsletter and/or at sorority meetings 


Ivy Akademy
Objective:
To plan a comprehensive center for all educational and human resource development activities for most of the community service programs

Activity: Plan and implement an annual Ivy Akademy Celebration


MTAT and Scholarship
Objectives: (MTAT)
To provide experiences which contribute to the cultural heritage, enrichment and personal growth of contestants

To build relationships and showcase positive attributes among the contestants through wholesome competition

To create and present a pageant in which contestants are permitted to express ideas, gain self-confidence, display talent, demonstrate writing and interview skills and display poise and grace

Objectives: (Scholarship)
To provide non-competitive awards for children of active sorority members and provide competitive scholarships for African American female high school graduates who wish to continue their education at post-secondary Institutions

Activities:  Plan and coordinate activities that will expose MTAT contestants to cultural, intellectual and personal activities; Host a MTAT Kick-Off Reception;  Conduct a pageant orientation and workshops;  Host an Appreciate Luncheon honoring a GTO member and showcasing the contestants; Coordinate planning, preparation and publication of the MTAT Souvenir Booklet; Teach the contestants an Opening Routine;  Provide scholarships for selected graduating high school seniors who choose to continue their education in college;  Provide Heritage Awards for eligible students
