President's Message

Greetings,

I have the privilege to serve as the President of Gamma Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated®. Welcome to our Chapter website on behalf of the resolute members who have served the Tampa Bay community with distinction for over 82 years.

Since Gamma Theta Omega Chapter’s inception on December 7, 1940, the organization has remained a beacon of light in the Tampa Bay community, providing a host of relevant and impactful programs of service to children, youth and families. ​ With over 400 members, Gamma Theta Omega serves the community with purpose and passion under the dynamic leadership of International President Danette Anthony Reed. In addition, Gamma Theta Omega Chapter is home to Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s 28th International President, Attorney Carolyn House Stewart and 17th South Atlantic Regional Director Marsha Lewis Brown who both served with distinction and honor. ​

 

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.’s International Program theme is: “Soaring to Greater Heights of Service and Sisterhood,” with programming initiates that focuses on:

 

  • Strengthening Our Sisterhood

  • Empowering Our Families

  • Building Our Economic Wealth

  • Enhancing Our Environment

  • Advocating for Social Justice

  • Uplifting Our Local Community

 

In addition to our international initiatives, Gamma Theta Omega Chapter is committed to addressing the ever-evolving community-identified needs of the Tampa Bay community through implementing relevant and impactful programming throughout the year.
